The training will benefit anyone interested in learning: more about East African community, background of the East African, the basis of their culture, families and the framework of their social structure. It is highly recommended to those who work with East African community and families including social workers, law enforcement officers, attorneys, healthcare professionals, media staff and psychologists.
About the Speaker
Mr. Abdi G. Elmi is the first and only court certified Somali interpreter in Minnesota and the nation. Mr. Elmi is also seminar/diplomat interpreter for the United States Department of States and certified Somali languages tester for ACTFL, language testing contractor for the Department of Defense and federal agencies.
With a Masters Degree in Health and Human Services Administration, and a Degree in Accounting, Elmi has designed and delivered diversity training programs for social and public service employees including judges, social workers, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, nurses, teachers and the general public.
